Everything you wanted to know about packaging in our…
So, you need to send a package? Here are a few simple tips that will help ensure the safe and efficient delivery of your package.
The Box – Choose corrugated mailers that are slightly larger than the item you’re sending so that you have enough room to cushion the contents. If you are reusing a box, make sure all previous addresses and markings are blacked out with marker or covered with adhesive labels.
Padding – Cushion your item with materials such as bubble wrap, foam, tissue paper and paper. Close the box and shake it – if you can feel or hear items shifting, add more cushioning.
Sealing – Seal the edges of your package with 2 inch-wide brown or clear shipping tape. Do not seal or tie up boxes using string or cord because these materials can get caught in mail processing equipment.
Address – Make sure you use the correct address, with a complete zip code (zip code + 4 digits).
Dropping Off – You can drop your packages off at the post office, or drop them in a USPS blue collection box if they weigh 13 pounds or less.
